Not on the High Street

The iYFA team were very much on the high street on Saturday for the launch of the ecoShopper box; to be precise the road between Turnham Green tube station and the Chiswick High Road. The weather was bright and crisp and the streets full of Christmas shoppers. For many our mulled wine was a great start to their day’s shopping and for some a mince pie, or two, we are sure filled in for a missed breakfast.

From the moment our stands went up the ecoShopper box created an enormous amount of interest and it wasn’t long before the boxes could be seen up and down the street full of Christmas shopping. When asked what the ecoShopper box was all about we explained that they were 28 times more environmentally friendly than a plastic bag, advertised local businesses, helped keep the local community together and were totally free to shoppers. Every person was totally behind what we were doing; many taking extra eco SHOPPER boxes to give to their friends.

We were giving away nearly 200 ecoShopper boxes an hour, but what really pleased us was the rate at which people were downloading the iYFA App and scanning the QR and AR codes on the boxes – by the end of the day the rate was 78%. The ecoShopper box will bring the local retailer together with the very latest digital innovations, creating what we call the ‘Digital High Street’.

The day was a wonderful success and showed that the local high street is very much alive and wanted by its local people.

If you missed us on Saturday and are in the Chiswick area you can pick up your own ecoShopper box from our stand at Turnham Arts & Crafts (2 Turnham Green Terrace) – just by the tube station.

As this is the last iYFA blog of the year we would like to wish all of our readers a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
